On Saturday 14th July, the Vibe Gallery in Bermondsey East London played host to Tina Lobondi’s ‘Evening of Fashion and Styling and Summer Sample Sale’. In addition to enjoying a make-over and generous discounts on Tina’s Summer Season garments, guests were treated to a sneak peek of the upcoming collection which includes pieces that feature a variety fabrics including leather, chiffon and African print cotton with bold combinations of sexy and feminine silhouettes and this season’s autumnal shades as well as some bold black and white pieces. The brand will also be introducing an exclusive range of t-shirts in prints designed by Tina. The result: exciting must-have pieces that should find their way into every woman’s wardrobe.
Tina has had a phenomenal year in terms of recognition (and much deserved too), with features in various magazine publications, and celebrities donning her creations on the red carpet. ‘This is the culmination of years of hard work, building my brand and perfecting my style,’ says a visibly excited and energised Tina, who spent the evening talking guests through the selection of garments on display. ‘I pride myself in offering exceptional attention to detail and finish, classic and elegant designs, and I think that this is now paying off. Look out for more to come, because we’ve got more exciting developments in weeks to come!’
Born in Kinshasa, Congo, Tina Lobondi grew up in Lorraine, France where she studied Fashion Design Realisation. 3 years later and with her Diploma in hand, the designer moved to Paris and started internships in various designer’s studios.
In 2006, the designer moved to London to continue her career in the field of fashion. Another Fashion Design degree at the prestigious London College of Fashion followed, and helped in the pursuit of the dream of creating her first collection, which was showcased to help raise money for the Princess Diana Foundation, at the event ” Finding Your Feet”. Since then her label has grown from strength to strength, with an increasing number of appearances being made in Europe. The fabrics and materials are sourced from all around the world, Mauritania to Paris and London, and made in the UK using fair trade principles.
In the last year Tina Lobondi has expand her operations by partnering with sapelle.com – something we’re obviously excited about!
